Youth Education

Exciting educational opportunities geared toward youth include:

Food Drive (food items, paper toiletries, baby or hygiene items) - Year Round

The school sets a goal and a timeframe for the food drive. Each class competes to bring the largest number of items
A list of recommended and most needed items at the time is provided by Families Forward
Families Forward delivers and picks up food bins (for larger drives)

Tours at Families Forward - Year Round

Plan a field trip/tour at Families Forward and learn about who we are and who we serve. Classes can bring their food donations at this time.
Classes are given a presentation about Families Forward programs and services

Volunteering - Year Round

There are volunteer opportunities in the Food Pantry or other Families Forward events. Specific time frames, locations and responsibilities can be provided upon request. Some age restrictions apply.

Adopt-A-Family - October-December

Schools can choose to adopt a family or a number of families for the Holidays
Families would be assigned to the class based upon its preferences as far as number and age of children in the family
Gift card donations are also a great way to participate

Back-To-School - July-August

As with the Food Drive, classes may choose to provide children in need with new backpacks and school supplies

Thanksgiving Program - October-November

Thanksgiving Food Drive culminating on Saturday the weekend prior to Thanksgiving serves over 400 families with food for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner plus extra food items for the month
