Exciting educational opportunities geared toward youth include:

Food Drive - Year Round

• The school sets a goal and a time frame for the food drive. Each class competes to bring the largest number of items.
• A list of recommended and most needed items at the time is provided by Families Forward.
• Families Forward delivers and picks up food bins (for larger drives).

• Plan a field trip/tour at Families Forward and learn about who we are and who we serve. Classes can bring their food donations at this time.
• Classes are given a presentation about Families Forward programs and services.

• There are volunteer opportunities in the food pantry or other Families Forward events. Specific time frames, locations, and responsibilities can be provided upon request. Some age restrictions apply.

• Schools can choose to adopt a family or a number of families for the holidays.
• Families will be assigned to the class based upon its preferences as far as number and age of children in the family.
• Gift card donations are also a great way to participate.

• As with food drives, classes may choose to provide children in need with new backpacks and school supplies.

• Thanksgiving food drive culminating on the Saturday  prior to Thanksgiving serving over 700 families with food for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
