Corporate Grantmaking Opportunities
Families Forward is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has, for over 40 years, supported families as they work to build financial and housing stability for themselves and their children. We partner with corporate foundations and grantmakers to create a future where every child in Orange County has a safe place to call home and fresh and nutritious meals on the table.

Employee Matches & Volunteer Grants

Your volunteer group can support our Community Market, distribute school supplies to students eager to start the new year, and much more. Host a Donation Drive
Make a direct impact on our community by hosting a donation drive and collecting food or other necessities for local families! Your in-kind donations support the families we work with throughout the year, whether it’s food items that are donated to the Families Forward Community Market, hygiene items, or toys for children during the holidays.
Once you schedule your donation drive, a Families Forward team member will reach out to you to confirm the details and provide additional support.
We welcome the following donations:

- School Supplies (May-July)
- Thanksgiving/Holiday Food (Oct-Nov)
- Toys & Gift Cards (Nov-Dec)
For large scale donation drives, we are happy to provide donation collection barrels and assist with pick-ups in our box truck. For smaller donation drives, we encourage your group to collect in boxes/containers you provide and drop off at our office in Irvine (Monday to Friday, 9am through 5pm)

Schedule a Lunch and Learn Opportunity
We invite business leaders to join the Families Forward team for an engaging and educational presentation from the comfort of your office. Learn how you and your team can make an impact in our community and transform Orange County into a region where every family can find success and thrive.
The latest data in Orange County has identified that thousands of parents and children are experiencing homeless in our neighborhoods on any given night. Families in our region, who are struggling to find or maintain safe and stable housing, often face these challenges due to multiple factors including (but not limited to): juggling medical debt, a recent job loss, recovery from traumatic experiences, a recent death of a family member, and becoming a victim of natural or localized disasters—all while working to make ends meet for their children. Schedule a presentation to deepen your knowledge on the struggles that families are working to overcome and discover ways that you can make an impact in our community.
Organize a Kit Build
Kit builds are a great way to engage large groups, as these events offer flexibility and create a team-building atmosphere!
If you would like to plan a kit build, our Families Forward team will work with you and your budget to create a curated list of items and event layout. You’re welcome to host the build on your own or request a Families Forward team member to come speak with the group and assist throughout.

Kits we are currently looking for:
- Hygiene: Support children and their parents with basic needs while they work towards housing stability.
- STEM Activities: Support child enrichment events taking place in our affordable housing community after-school programs.
- Career: Ensure that the parents in our programs who are advancing their career and financial goals have the tools that they need.
- Welcome Home: Enhance the joy that families experience as they move into a safe and stable home.
- Car Living: Provide essentials for those who have not yet entered stable housing.

Does our company donate the items?
Yes, kits are either purchased or collected by the group hosting.
How long does a kit build take?
Each event’s timing will vary based on the quantity of kits you are putting together, how quickly the team works and if there are other factors at play. The average kit build takes approximately 25-45 minutes.
How do the kits get to you?
- We ask that a kit build lead drops off completed kits at our Program Center at 8 Thomas, Irvine. We are open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- If a Families Forward team member attends your kit build event, they may be able to transport the completed kits for you.
- For large quantities or large-sized kits, please reach out to us to schedule a pick-up via the Families Forward truck.
