How Can I Partner with Families Forward?
Our Housing Partners work with Families Forward and provide rental opportunities to families who have qualified for our supportive services and rental assistance. Some Housing Partners have also agreed to waive certain fees, deposits, and credit restrictions, and to lower rents for the initial months of the lease. You can make an impact in our community by filling your unit through Families Forward!
About Families Forward
Families Forward is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has worked for over 40 years to help families access safe and stable housing. Through our model, which is based on the national Rapid Re-Housing program, families with minor-aged children in Orange County who are experiencing homelessness are supported by trained staff to become quickly re-housed and stabilized.
About Our Housing Partners
Our Housing Partners are the key to families moving themselves from homelessness into long-term stability. Partners lease homes to families that have been qualified and approved for Families Forward assistance. By agreeing to waive certain fees, deposits, and/or credit restrictions, Families Forward offers financial incentives to the Housing Partner and maintains third-party accountability with the tenant.
About Our Families
Qualified families are screened through a background, credit, and eviction history check and receive support, which may include rental assistance, move-in costs, and/or security deposit assistance. Families meet monthly with our trained care team staff to fulfill program obligations, such as working with a career coach to grow their work experience and income, attending counseling sessions, receiving training from our Housing team on tenant best practices, and setting and achieving financial goals.
What You Can Expect
The families enrolled in our Housing Program are determined to find and secure housing, increase their income, and achieve self-sufficiency for their children, and work with trained Families Forward staff to achieve these goals. Additionally,
- Families are held accountable to your lease conditions and rent payment schedule.
- Families receive monthly home visits by staff, who guide families on tenant responsibilities and any concerns regarding the property, ensuring that your unit is well-maintained.
- Families communicate with staff throughout their program enrollment. Staff are available as third-party mediators and messengers, ensuring that you have an additional line of communication with your tenant.
